This may seem like a sad song but the truth is much further down the road than that. After years of not touching a guitar on day on a summer afternoon, this song needed to escape. I don't question it and I don't edit when the magic happens. For being creative is the closest to magic as I've ever gotten. It always feels like a journey and I am just a passenger. For me this was a song of rebirth. Could I ever again write? Could I ever again compose? Will I always be outside looking in to the empty dirty seats inside the runaway train of the hopes and dreams of what could have existed? Am I that person who dropped those keys that once upon a time opened doors down empty halls that would light up as I went along. I wanted to embrace that simple man and never let go.

The Seeker

Herman Fermin

This is a song of hope and the search for answers.

We are all connected via human experience. There in lies just as many questions as well as answers. Just when we think we know it all, we discover that we know nothing at all. The quest for truth never ends.

Saying goodbye to every single thought of the other person and moving on.

When two people are at the end of a relationship and both look at each other and both saying "it's time for you to go." Of course it's always the other person and not you. There is a freedom in coming to the fork in the road when you decide than you no longer want to look back.

This is about being claustrophobic in your own skin.

This song was written to honor all those who have come home damaged, confused and lost, and are just expected to continue on with their former lives as if their being will not be changed by the things that they have seen or they care to remember. Only now reports/studies are surfacing that Vietnam veterans still have persistent post-traumatic stress syndrome after serving in the war and showing little improvement since then. A large number of them have died. The offensive part here is that there needed to be a study. I have a close friend who was part of the clean up in Germany in 1945 and although he tried his best to lead a normal life after that, he was never the same. We don't take care of our Vets who sacrifice so much and get little in return. It doesn't matter which side of the coin you fall on, these are still brave souls who need to be taken better care of. We train them to go in and fight the good fight, but we don't prepare them enough to come back to the life that they are fighting for in the first place.
